How many games a week will my child be playing?
Every team will play one game a week on Saturday. Due to other sports, some games could be moved to another day if both teams agree. The first games will start at 10:00am with the second game following at the same location until all groups have played. We start with the 6/7 division, 8/9 division, then 10/11 division, 12/13 division, 14/15 and the 16/17/18 division.  Our final weekend will be on Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25.

Where will the games be played?
Elks Filed

Can my child play up an age group or down an age group?
The league only allows you to play up an age group (extenuating circumstance), special consideration may be made for a smaller, inexperienced child to play down an age group.  Division is determined by the child's age as of December 31, 2024.

How many times will my child practice a week? (Spring League ONLY)
Practice times, days and frequency are determined by the coach. Most teams practice twice per week. This is completely up to the coach of your child's team, and is not controlled by the league.  Please respect the coach's wishes in regards to practice.

Where will we practice?
Elks Field and a few other locations TBD

What if my child plays multiple sports?

We do not build teams or practice schedules based on what other sports are being played. We do not expect players to be at every practice or game but if playing flag we expect a balance between the sports and a commitment to your flag teammates.

Do I need to be certified to coach?
You must be certified in Respect in Sport, which is a 2 hour online course https://sasksrc.respectgroupinc.com/secure/. If you have already completed this course with another sport you must log in and add Football as a sport to your file.
You do need to attend a coaches meeting that will be held  in April 2024 with date and time TBA. This meeting is MANDATORY.  All Head Coaches will be reimbursed the equivalent of one player registration fee at the end of the season for each team coached.

Can I put in a request to play with certain players?
You may put a request for a certain player in the comments section when registering online, but there are no guarantees.

What do I need for my child to play flag?
Your child will need to wear solid coloured shorts with NO stripes or pockets, and cleats for footwear(metal cleats are not allowed). Mouth guards are mandatory.  All other equipment will be provided.

If my child doesn't like flag, can I get a refund?
All refund requests must be made by email to mjyouthflagfootball@gmail.com. Fees will be returned less a $60 administration fee until March 18th 2024. Refunds after the 29th of April will be considered because of injury only.
